Welcome to the world of Caleb and his Grandpa’s amazing inventions!

My name is Justin and I’m the creator of the things you’ll find on this website. I love writing and illustrating children’s books, but I also love painting and drawing, making things out of wood and doing building projects – much like Caleb’s dad in the book!

And the similarities don’t stop there: I do indeed have a son called Caleb and a daughter called Bethanie, my wife goes out to work and I stay at home cooking the meals and working on all sorts of fun projects. And just like Caleb’s family in the book, we lived in a remote village in Africa for a couple of years and that is where I wrote Caleb and the Incredible Counting machine!

But before we go too far, the characters in the books are not completely based on real life. My Caleb’s grandpa doesn’t live in our attic and though he is a very practical person he prefers gardening and home improvements to inventions, though I have to say he is much more interested in mechanical things than I am! Maybe because he grew up on a farm in Jersey… Indeed, the very one that was used for inspiration for the farm in Caleb and the All-Seeing Glasses.
